Forming a team for the 2009 5K is a great way to help Samaritans spread awareness about this important issue. As a team captain, you can organize a group from your workplace, college, church, family, or circle of friends who wish to run or walk with us “for someone else’s life.” Some participants choose to remember a loved one by organizing a memorial team.
Starting a team is easy and a fun way to make your 5K experience even more memorable. There will be prizes for team accomplishments, including largest team and most money raised. For more information about forming a team, contact Garrett Owen via email at gowen @samaritanshope.org or 617-536-2460.
The 2008 Samaritans 5K was a great success, as nearly 2,000 runners, walkers, volunteers and spectators came out to Artesani Park on a beautiful October day to support Samaritans. Take a minute to watch video from last year's event, and discover for yourself why participants are calling the Samaritans 5K "a great day to be alive"!
